CATHCA is the Roman Catholic network of Health Care Institutions and Health Care Providers, which exist in all nine Provinces of South Africa, Botswana and Swaziland. We operate in clinics, hospitals, old age homes, hospices, orphanages, home based care programmes and many Diocesan and parish projects combating HIV/AIDS. CATHCA is managed by a Board of Management, the day to day affairs are run by a National Office team based in Johannesburg. Our vision is to enable the provision of accessible high-quality holistic health care services in Southern Africa, especially rural and marginalised communities, in the spirit of service of Christ. Our mission is to affirm, develop, support and strengthen both individual health care workers and an evolving Catholic health care network, in conjunction with all other health care role-players. Attended Machabeng International High School in Maseru Lesotho. Left Lesotho for the United States at the age of 18 to study. degree in Finance and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Southern University of New Hampshire, Manchester. While at the United nations, met my husband who is in the diplomatic Corps. Worked for Bank of New York, JP Morgan Chase and Fleet Boston Financial which later merged with Bank of America. Held many exciting and challenging positions within the financial world. Elsa’s experience includes working in the HIV and AIDS, gender-based violence and community health sectors, she possess an Honours Degree in Resources Management and is an accredited facilitator who has specialised in extensive community capacity-building activities. Tinashe Mandikonza is a Project Assistant manager who has been with CATHCA for two years and specialised in database administration at tertiary level. Her key expertise in the training unit are developing and maintaining the training databases for each of the trainings currently running, which are Maternal and Child Care, Psycho-social Support for Orphaned and Vulnerable children, HIV/Aids awareness Counselling and Testing, TB Dots Support and leadership trainings. Tinashe also populates the community dialogues prior to implementation and does report writing for all the trainings that will be taking place all year round. But he was staying Bloemfontein working as a Provincial Manager for Treatment Action Campaign. He has held different roles in TAC, such as Provincial Prevention and Treatment Literacy Coordinator, Provincial Organizer, Provincial Capacity Building Officer, and the National Skills Development and Capacity Building Officer. He holds a Certificate in Access to Medicine and Intellectual property Rights. He has managed lots of projects in his previous job. It was a great privilege to work with Archbishop Hurley, one of the unsung heroes and saints of South Africa. Kgomotso Pitso has great administrative experience; she worked at Catholic Relief Services for several years as an administrator, and also worked for an IT NGO.
