What you should know about A Sense Of Africa
Idube is a safari lodge situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, in the heart of South Africa’s premier wildlife conservation area of the Greater Kruger Park. All our experienced rangers and trackers are trained to give guests the best possible wild life experience. The lodge has 10 comfortable chalets, set amongst green lawns and shady trees. Idube is dedicated to giving guests a genuine and informative experience in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Lightweight clothing in dull colours, light sweater and heavier, warmer jacket. Medical necessities, including anti-malaria medication. As we are in a malaria risk area, guests have anti-mosquito units plugged into their rooms, and we suggest that they remain on during the night. We have screens on the windows and entrance door, and insect repellent is provided. We strongly advise guests to consult their doctors before visiting any malaria risk area. Guests sometimes forget the strength of the African sun, so please make sure that you wear sunscreen and hats, and that you don't lie outside in the sun too long. Weather is normally warm to hot during the day, with warm evenings. At times it can be cool, particularly during rainy spells. The lodge is set in an indigenous garden of tall trees and cool, green lawns watered only with recycled water. The thatched bar and entertainment areas have an immediate appeal and are the focal areas for guests to gather. The open lounge is a great place to relax, whilst waiting to see what animals will come wandering in front of the lodge. The swimming pool is well situated for both bird watching and game viewing, whilst cooling off with a refreshing drink in hand. Idube happily hosts families of nyala and warthogs, which are seen almost daily around the entire lodge area. Many guests prefer just to sit on their private deck enjoying the quiet and watching squirrels, monkeys or the many other creatures that have made Idube their home.
