The practice was established by Adele Geldenhuys in 2005. The practice now consists of 6 physiotherapists all qualified with a degree in physiotherapy. In 2008 she moved premises to Fourways. Each of the physio’s bring an unique aspect to the practice, as they are each interested and qualified in treating a variety of conditions.

In 2005, Adele opened her own practice focussing on sports injuries, back and neck pain and pst surgical rehabilitation. Adele completed her MSc(Med) in the field of Exercise Science in 2012, with her research focussing on the radiological changes in the spine of elite female artistic gymnast and has continued to work extensively with the South African artistic team. Adele has worked and travelled extensively with numerous sporting teams, both provincially and nationally. She is also a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She has a special interest in sports injury rehabilitation and prevention and treats numerous triathletes, cyclists, runners and gymnasts. She also has an interest in back and neck pain, post surgical rehabilitation and women’s health. After completing her community service in Mpumalanga she then worked in the UK for 3 years at a private hospital in Surrey doing post-operative rehabilitation focusing on lower back and knee patients and has run her own private practice for 6 years. She is the practice manager and in charge of all things not physio. If you’re breathing to hard, slow down and walk until your breathing is comfortable. Scheuermann’s disease (most common cause of pain in thoracic spine in adolescents resulting in a rounded thoracic spine) Use of sterile acupuncture needles to eliminate trigger points (knots), tightness and pain. Young children with chest problems that struggles to clear secretions. Use of small suction catheter to suction out secretions via the nasal passages. My most memorable moment will always be when Madiba as he was fondly known, walked out into a packed Ellis Park in 1995, while thousands of rugby supporters of all races, chanted his name! Nelson, Nelson, it echoed in the stadium, and our beloved Tata was wearing a Springbok jersey! He had managed to unite South Africans using sport as the glue. We would see this numerous times in years to come, be it rugby, soccer, cricket etc, Madiba always put his stamp of approval on the participation and united the nation. When his health took a turn for the worst in July of this year, we all feared the worst, but he was not ready to leave yet. Dignitaries from across the world have flown in to wish him farewell. The weather is sombre, it is grey skies and raining, much like the mood of South Africans as we reluctantly say goodbye to our hero. May we remember what you stood for, for years to come, and may we continue to help your ideals become a reality. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mandela family and his loved ones, and also with every South African, whose life he touched in some way or another.
