Blackie and Associates is a small, shipping, bespoke importer of flexible packaging materials and ingredients for the FMCG industry.

She noticed the frustration the South African FMCG industry felt about flexible packaging and realised there was a gap for a company that focused on delivery, innovation and adaptability. Blackie and Associates has grown from those early days when it imported 80 tonnes of packaging a year, to one which now imports over 1000 tonnes a year. Our quality is exceptional and our prices are competitive. We employ specialists to handle our warehousing, shipping, distribution and quality control. Even though we import, we keep raw material stock in our warehouse in the Middle East as well as finished product in our South African-based warehouses in Durban and Johannesburg, ensuring rigorous just-in-time delivery. She and Rosheen have the same interests in empowering and mentoring people and have formed an education trust together as well as supporting a number of charities. We are up-to-date with all the latest trends and are able to use innovation and technology to bring our clients the best quality product in the shortest possible time. We use only the most technically advanced equipment and have a packaging technologist and chemical engineer who oversee the delivery and impeccable quality of our material. We travel internationally every few months to understand the trends in packaging. We manage your orders from conception to delivery, be it your warehouse or our own. We’re involved in sourcing ingredients from around the world for our FMCG clients. All of our ingredients are ISO and HACCP credited suppliers and many of them also offer Halaal and Kosher certified materials. Flexible packaging for the FMCG sector is our main business. We use only the most technically advanced equipment and have a Technical Packaging Manager whom oversees all technical aspects of the flexible packaging material. Packaging development is one of our strengths and we thrive in new packaging developments. We manage the entire process from artwork preparation through to after-sales service with a hands-on approach.
