Cratos Capital is a proprietary trading operation that provides individuals with a platform upon which they are able to trade in the JSE equities market.

Cratos Capital offers a complete broking service to institutions and private clients as well as a professional, world class proprietary trading desk. However, his passion lay in trading and in July 2001 Appleton Securities employed him as a proprietary trader and thereafter SA Stockbrokers, where he continued to trade and manage private portfolios, providing him with 8 years’ experience as a successful proprietary trader, before starting Cratos Capital in He progressed from portfolio management to the institutional dealing desk where he managed and executed large institutional orders. During this time his interest in proprietary trading developed and was later given the opportunity to trade on the firms account. Here he managed his own as well as private client portfolios. His passion for the market, disciplined trading strategy and 10 years of valuable experience has contributed to his success as a proprietary trader. In (2005-2008) Mike joined Impala Platinum as head of Human Resources. In 2008 Mike co-founded Optimum Coal Holdings, where he held the position of CEO of the company for five years and completed the sale to Glencore. Presently Mike is the President of the Chamber of Mines, non-executive chairman of Richards Bay Coal Terminal and founding member of Dedicoal. Mike Teke joined Cratos Capital in 2012 and in doing so has brought a wealth of knowledge regarding management and strategic forward planning to ensure the continued success of the Cratos group. Michael’s primary responsible is to act as a Fund Manager and Research Analyst in respect of the portfolio’s managed at Cratos Asset Management. Michael is a founding member of St John Capital and also serves as a Director of Cratos Asset Management. He has 10 years of corporate finance and investment advisory experience. Greg qualified in 1997 as a certified Securities Trader and is an active member of the Institute of Financial Markets. He started his career over 25 years ago in assisting clients in portfolio management, investment advisory and corporate stockbroking services. He has headed up Private client dealing for a large portion of his career, ensuring that standards and execution of client requirements are always adhered to. Darren has a Bachelors of Commerce degree majoring in Finance. He has been in the financial services industry in an advisory capacity for over a decade. Previously he worked for a large financial services group as a private client advisor and managed an Investment Management team. Ron is a qualified stockbroker and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Witwatersrand. After attaining his degree he worked in the accounting arena. With over 25 years in the market, Ron has been an analyst in London on both equities and bonds on the institutional side, to private client portfolio management. He has been a director of three different stockbroking firms. Ron has been successfully managing client portfolios for over a decade.
