Dr Maphisa & Partners offers a diverse range of services, including consultations for adults and children; dispensing of medication to both cash-paying and medical aid patients; flu vaccines; family planning; antenatal care; pregnancy ultrasound scans; women’s clinic services; men’s clinic services; radiology; medical tests; general medical examinations; insurance medicals; short-stay admissions and observations; minor surgical procedures; and HIV counselling, testing and treatment. We are a walk-in practice and generally do not accept appointments, except in exceptional cases. We accept cash, debit and credit cards, and medical aid payment on condition we can confirm availability of funds with your medical aid scheme. Millions of people with HIV/Aids live full and rewarding lives. We run a comprehensive and affordable HIV/Aids wellness and treatment programme for people leaving with HIV/Aids. We also offer HCT and treatment for patients who have been exposed through unprotected sex, condom rupture or rape. We specialise in the prevention of transmission of HIV from mother to child in pregnancy (PMTCT) through ARV therapy. It is now possible for HIV-positive couples to have babies through normal sexual intercourse and pregnancy without endangering the life of one or both partners. This is possible even if one of the partners is HIV negative. This programme is based at our branch at Rand Clinic. The success of the programme is made possible by partners, funders and stakeholders. We now offer FREE and safe voluntary male medical circumcisions (VMMC). The circumcisions are done at our Lister Polyclinic branch in Johannesburg. Only our doctors, who have undergone specialised training in male medical circumcisions, perform the circumcisions. The training for both doctors and the nurses who assist during the procedure is provided by CHAPS and funded by USAID. The procedure is safe and pain free and takes less than 20 minutes. Patients are able to go to work the same day, depending on the nature of their occupation. Medical circumcisions can be performed safely throughout the year, including summer.
