He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Systems as well as two masters degrees. His career has seen him work for a range of companies in the FMCG, banking, logistics, retail and service industries. His focus has been on strategic execution, operations and the turnaround of business units and companies. He has previously held senior positions including CEO, Managing Director, COO, CIO and Operations Director for various public and private sector companies. Andy started his career at Standard Bank as a programmer after completing various information technology courses. He worked as a programmer, analyst and then as a consultant in the banking industry focusing on payments. He implemented multiple large banking systems and was very involved in multiple industry initiatives. These initial years gave Mr Theron a solid base in the system development cycle of banking with particular focus on payments and management. In 1997 while working as a consultant, Mr Theron started a contracting company and placed multiple individuals, predominantly in the financial industry. In 2005 he sold off his interests in the consulting company and created Finteq. Rob is the Commercial Director of Finteq, having joined the company at the beginning of 2008 with the purpose of growing the company’s Pan-African operation. Over the past 15 years he has been in technical sales, first as a sales engineer, then succeeding into management and finally becoming a director in Eugene is the Operations Director of Finteq and has more than 25 years of IT experience in the banking industry. Eugene started as a programmer in 1986 and worked in the Standard Bank IT department for 23 years. He has a very good technical, as well as a business understanding in diverse areas of banking. Gus worked for Standard Bank for a period of 44 years. Some 24 years of which was in an executive position as a member of the Bank’s general management. His experience has covered all facets of banking with a particular emphasis on banking operations and payment services. He has headed up the Organisation and Methods Department of Standard Bank and also led the Research and Development, and Electronic Banking Services Divisions. Since his formal retirement from Standard Bank, Gus continues to work within the financial services industry providing advisory services on a diverse range of assignments. He provides technical direction on business decisions and he is responsible for the successful creation and delivery of the company’s products/solutions to the marketplace by managing technical risks and opportunities.
