We aim to make the glory of God and the goodness of joy the foundation and flavor of everything we do. God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in him. Desiring God began inauspiciously in the spring of 1994 when John Piper, then the 48-year-old pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, handed off the churchs tape ministry to his assistant Jon Bloom. Piper and Bloom founded the ministry and named it Desiring God after Pipers book Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist. The world sells a sinful, cheap joy at the buyers expense. What started with tapes of sermons, a few of Pipers first books, and a single annual event, in Gods timing, blossomed into a web ministry with more than 10,000 resources distributed worldwide. Our Affirmation of Faith sets forth the defining doctrinal position of Desiring God. Everything Desiring God as an organization proclaims and teaches are based upon these core beliefs. MULTI MINISTRIES is a faith based ministry seeking to encourage individuals, churches and pastors to be passionate about Evangelism, Training and Church Development. We do this in a number of ways through our Bible College, Pastors Training Schools, Outreaches, Seminars and Conferences. We long to see local churches active in short term mission and evangelistic outreaches. The gospel is the good news of Gods grace invading the darkness of this world.
