Individual remedial tuition offered at this practice focuses on the acquisition and establishment of the basic skills in spelling, reading and mathematics for primary school learners. It primarily involves learners from mainstream education who have not sufficiently benefited from tuition in a group learning environment. In order to determine the nature of a specific learning problem in spelling, reading and/or mathematics, a comprehensive assessment is necessary prior to remedial tuition. The path to alcohol and drug dependency starts with experimentation. The substance seems to solve the problem and make life better. As the addiction progresses, getting and using the drug becomes more and more important and your ability to stop is compromised. What begins as a voluntary choice turns into a physical and psychological need. Kobus Weyers has been running a well-established private practice in Somerset West and one in Eersterivier for the past 14 years. He qualified as a Counselling Psychologist from the University of Stellenbosch in 1977 and started his career as a Teacher Psychologist at Tygerberg High School for 4 years. He also served as School Psychologist as Deputy Head of the School Clinic in Kimberley for 5 years and Head of the School Clinic in Strand and Somerset West for 23 years. With his wife Iris, an Occupational Therapist, they have raised three children who are well settled and functional in their careers in the medical and business fields, serving the South African community. His primary goal as Psychologist is to help people in discovering their purpose in life and to find means to apply themselves to their optimum potential.
