The Suikbosrand Nature Reserve with its beautiful birds and wildlife is also close by for a day visit. The Lido is as far from the Johannesburg CBD as the hotels in the Northern Suburbs with the difference that there is no peak hour traffic to frustrate you if you plan to travel to Bloemfontein, Cape Town or Kwa-Zulu Natal. The Hotel is well placed in the Kliprivier conservancy and Khoisan land. This historically protected building now boasts 24 rooms, each en suite with diva baths and Indian rock tiled bathroom walls. The unique Lapa offers an upper and lower level united by an open fireplace and dance area which can accommodate up to 400 people. The LIDO Hotel was the original trading post, and is still a popular stopover for people travelling between the North, East and South.
