Mainstream Renewable Power is an independent global developer of renewable energy with 800 megawatts delivered into construction and commercial operation. The values allow us to make decisions value-based as opposed to procedure- based or bureaucracy-based. As we progress through the development process, the value of an asset increases as the risk decreases. Mainstream’s activities in onshore wind development span a number of established and emerging markets around the world. Onshore wind development is one of Mainstream’s core activities and we specialise in all aspects from development, construction and operation of large-scale wind farms. Established in 2015, Lekela is a partnership between Actis, the global pan emerging market private equity firm, and Mainstream and builds on the success of two previous ventures between Actis and Mainstream in South Africa and Chile. Mainstream is working closely with Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) to put in place a set of Key Performance Indicators. The Supergrid has the technology and scale to harness Europe’s abundant offshore wind in the North Sea. The breadth and depth of our in-house expertise makes us unique in the renewable energy industry. We have been awarded planning consent for more than 4,700 megawatts for 48 projects across four continents. Mainstream South Africa is a leading developer of wind and solar projects employing more than 46 people in our Cape Town office. Mainstream's Lekela Power, the Pan-African renewable energy generation platform delivering utility scale wind and solar power in Africa, continues to build on its growth strategy with the announcement of the acquisition of co-development rights and sole rights to invest in the 158 MW Taiba Ndiaye Wind Project in Senegal. Mainstream opened its office in Manila in 2016 and is headed up by Ray Rysbergen, our VP Business Development. It has built and now operates two wind farms; the Knockaneden wind farm (9 megawatts) in County Kerry and the Carrickeeny wind farm (8 megawatts) in County Leitrim which is owned by IKEA. In the US, Mainstream partnered with Goldwind to deliver the 107 megawatt Shady Oaks wind farm into commercial operation in Chile is a key market for Mainstream and our team of more than 40 experienced colleagues are focused on delivering high quality wind and solar projects.
