Parkmore Nursery School provides a comprehensive pre-school education for young children in a close knit (loving) and caring environment. Each child is a unique individual and will be guided to develop in all areas to their full potential. Parkmore Nursery School is a NON PROFIT COMPANY (NPC). Over the years, the school has expanded considerably with alterations and improvements being made on a regular basis in order to satisfy the needs of the approximately 80 learners. The Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa, ISASA is the largest association of independent schools in South Africa and the Southern African region. Independent schools are also known as private schools. The main function is to act as a link between the board and the parents. The school continues as a non-profit organisation managed by a Board of Directors elected by the parent body, which is responsible solely to the parent body. Learners are observed on a continuous basis, a written mid-year and year-end report is prepared for parents. The school has a long waiting list and early application is advisable. School fees are payable in advance either termly, monthly or annually. The staff at Parkmore Nursery School has developed a ball skills and movement programme which takes place on a Monday during class. A music specialist comes to the school each week to play the piano and teach the children to use the musical instruments, along with singing and dancing. Each child celebrates this special occasion with a special 'Birthday Ring'. Parents are encouraged to attend and supply a cake for the occasion. These are privately run and are charged for individually.
