With a legacy dating back over 123 years, the Rand Show remains South Africa’s largest, most iconic consumer event, and is a highlight on the annual events calendar that has entertained multiple generations of South African families. Archery is a super-cool sport that not only gets kids outdoors into the fresh air, but also teaches discipline and improves self-esteem. Big names in the sport will be showing how it’s done, including Protea trampolinist Lucky Radebe, a silver medal winner at the Africa Champs in 2016, and rising star Jordan Booysen, who is a contender for the SA junior team to the World Age Group Competition in Bulgaria later this year. In between displays, visitors will get the opportunity to try out these competition-sized trampolines for themselves. Qualified coaches will be on hand during set times to teach visitors how to jump safely, and show them some exciting new moves to try out. Get your kicks at Route 66, the Rand Show's tribute to the golden era of motoring with a stunning display of collectible cars and motorcycles. Grab a snowtube or snowboard and take the six-metre high snow ramp. It's new, it's messy, it's gooey, and the kids are going to love it. Can you find the dinosaurs, ape men, and other fascinating fossil creatures? Kids of all ages can take advantage of the PlayStation pods to experience the latest games and beat their friends. Visit SAASTA's Great SA Inventions exhibit to find out more about ground breaking South Africans. Competitors from the SA Strongman Union to go head to head in the SA's Strongest Man Qualifier looking for a chance to compete in the finals. Expect elements such as the Atlas Stones and Dead Lift to test competitors to their limits. Enjoy the opportunity to brush up on your batting and other cricket skills with Standard Bank Cricket. The experienced team of communicators are standing by to explain the functions of the various SANDF divisions and to demonstrate the use of the equipment on display. There'll also be bunny hops, insane trick riding, and feats of balance and daring. The SA Strongman Union has scooped a major strongman event for South Africa and the Rand Show. The Rand Show is searching for homegrown South African talent. The Showtime Stage will feature a daily Children's Entertainment Show giving moms and dads a breather whilst the children sit back and enjoy the entertainment. A day at the Rand Show can really take it out of you. This group of uber-energetic athletes will be amping up the vibes at the Rand Show's new Action Zone on weekends, with a trampoline showcase that's as much fun for the audience as it is for the participants. Best of the Best is a showcase of some of the best design in Southern Africa. Launching this year at the Rand Show Johannesburg Design Week 2017 consists of curated displays of intriguing design, public workshops and talks on design topics, and a series of conferences, workshops and master classes that will inspire those in the world of business.
