SACCCS is mandated by the Government to investigate the feasibility and undertake technical and human development of Carbon Capture and Storage ( CCS) in South Africa. To be the leading authority for all CCS related activities in South Africa. Implementing work programmes to enable the design and implementation and operation of a CCS Pilot Carbon Dioxide Storage Project\. Engaging with Stakeholders to promote alignment of SACCCS strategy and objectives; establishing new, and leveraging existing international linkages to advance the work and activities of SACCCS\. Develop understanding of CCS, key concepts, subsurface storage and key issues. The study explores the techno-economics of CCS deployment and commercialisation in South Africa. The report provides an assessment of the impact of deploying CCS on national priorities other than climate change in South Africa. He was responsible for matters related to electricity, renewable energy, environment, energy efficiency, energy database, coal and gas and petroleum. He serves on the Executive Committee of the International Energy Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Programme and as Co-Vice-Chairman of the Technical Group of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum. Noel Kamrajh is an accomplished and highly effective Financial Specialist in Corporate, Structured & Project finance, Programme/Project Director & Head with a wealth of experience managing major industrial projects in the fields of renewable energy, mining, and Agro-Industries across the African continent. Following a job review process in February 2013, she was promoted to Project Coordinator to provide support to the SACCCS Manager in project management and coordination of project related activities. Evelyn Nyandoro is currently the Manager for the South African Centre for Carbon Capture and Storage (SACCCS) and is responsible for the technical development and stakeholder engagement of CCS in South Africa. In 2001 he moved to Sasol Mining in Secunda, starting first at the Exploration Division where in 2002-03 achieved and Excellence award as part of the Directional Drilling Department. Has a wealth of experience gathered over three decades in Marketing and Communications both locally and abroad whilst holding executive positions either as a departmental/divisional Head. Her role is responsible for development, implementation and management of surface monitoring (atmospheric, soil, water & ecosystem) in preparation for the Pilot CO2 Storage Project (PCSP). His responsibilities include inter alia to engage with vast stakeholders at the National, Provincial and Local levels; positioning the brand of SACCCS (both internationally and locally) as well as raise awareness about Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in general. He has experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Media Relations, Business Development, Lobbying and Fundraising gathered from the industry and NGOs, spanning more than ten years. In this role, he introduced the Capacity Building initiatives for beneficiaries and raised adequate funds for the projects thereof. With a chemical engineering and technical background, Douglas has an understanding of the logistical and handling requirements of CO2. Prior to PCSP, he was assigned to the Sanedi’s Shale Gas Project for two and half years. Before joining the SACCCS Stakeholder Engagement team in 2013 she worked for the South African Red Cross Society within the communication department and her role entailed marketing, fundraising, organising events and community development. Rofhiwa Raselavhe is a Communications practitioner who hails from Limpopo Province in South Africa. He completed his high school (matric) in 2006 and enrolled for a BA Degree in Communications Studies which he successfully completed at the University of Limpopo. Rofhiwa is currently reading for Masters (MPhil) specialising in Communication for Climate Change and Carbon Capture & Storage in South Africa at the University of Monash, South Africa.
