The company remains in the control of the founding family. Steel King was richly rewarded for their initiative by dominating this section of a growing market for the next 15 years through its dealership network of retail chemists. With the advent of the microwave oven in the late 70’s, coupled with the chemists being pressurised to phase out fancy goods, a change in Steel King’s marketing and client base became necessary. This was rapidly achieved and reflects the multiple sectors that they serve to this day. Perhaps the most significant of these is their dealership network serving the catering industry, resulting in Steel King being a significant entity in the non-food sector. Although the product ranges are hinged on industrial and commercial requirements, they also enjoy extensive support from the retail sector, which also represents a large portion of their client base.
