The lodge is near Umfolozi & Mapelane game reserves and is also a short drive from St. Lucia wetland. Toad Tree Lodge is a luxury self catering lodge situated in a private game reserve in Hluhluwe, Natal, South Africa.

It features a main double bedroom, en-suite with Jacuzzi bath, walk in wardrobe and large outdoor shower, and a second twin bedroom, en-suite, both with views out over the bush and lawn. of the lodge, as it lends itself perfectly to cooking on the outdoor fire pit, sipping something cold and refreshing. and the st Lucia wetland area, the beaches and the diving hotspots of Sodwana are on your doorstep. The lodge is a peaceful place, with beautiful sounds of nature. Guests are requested not to make too much noise as sound travels very well and quickly through the bush. Toad tree Lodge is situated in a low risk malaria area, but it is still a good idea to spray anti bug repellents and rub on lotions early in the morning and at sunset, and when you go walking through the bush. Light clothing, costume & a rain jacket for the summer months and winter days. Warm clothing for winter mornings and evenings and a warm jacket for game drives. SA Rands are the only cash currency accepted in the area, and most formal establishments accept credit cards. There are no payment or cash withdrawal facilities at the lodge. The area often suffers from power cuts, so bring along your own torch, although the lodges are equipped with torches and re-chargeable lamps. Guests are requested not to smoke inside the lodges, or throw their cigarette butts onto the ground. The nearby town of Hluhluwe has supermarkets, bottle stores, pharmacies, petrol stations and a good local butchery. The lodge does not provide wood, so it is a good idea to bring your own fire lighters and wood/charcoal for the braai/barbeque. Bring your personal cell phone with you, and purchase a local SIM card and starter pack on arrival in South Africa.
