Umfundi is a company that prides itself on a unique concept that many educators love to use. It provides them with the advantage of providing them with the latest research (updated annually), exercises and activities and collection of evidence sections that the students answer within their workbook. Our workbooks have been created in such a manner that the students can answer all their portfolio and class work within the manual and there is no need to purchase ANY additional writing material for the students. We are in the process of developing other material based on our concept due to the demand we are receiving from the schools. Visual form constancy (ability to mentally turn and rotate objects in ones minds and picture what they would look like). Visual closure (the ability to visualize a complete whole when given incomplete information or a partial picture). Arts and crafts activities using various materials and activity packs. 3 Dimensional felt shapes available in small and large sizes which can be bought from Umfundi Educational Books to aid in the skills, shapes and colour development. This book is focused on introducing the learner from the age of 3-7 to the letters of the alphabet. The learner will be able to trace each letter and practice writing on their own. This activity book helps to refine fine motor skills and revise the letters of the alphabet. This activity book introduces learners to the number system and is aimed at ages 3-6. Fine motor skills of numeral (number) recognition and number names are taught. Fact families of multiplication and division are introduced and activities to revise what they have learnt are placed throughout the activity book. Vertical and horizontal sums have been included to aid the learners in solving both types of mathematical problems. Basic words and pictures are used to introduce the learner to the sounds of the each letter. The learners say the words, colour in the pictures and then practice writing and recognising the letters of the alphabet. The learner not only learns to tell the time but also to show one another how to tell the time using their own activity clocks and worksheets. They will use art activities such as skeleton making, puppet making and creativity worksheets to explore these issues and learn to apply them to their daily lives. The puppets become useful in encouraging the learner to talk about their health, life and their senses.
