What you should know about Village Church

Training in Johannesburg, School in Johannesburg, Churches - Mission in Johannesburg

We believe that for our church to be. A Bible-based Church Family in Johannesburg, South Africa Mission Our mission statement is captured by the acronym ROADS.

Where we come from, what we believe and value, and who Jesus is to us. Adam is happily married to his wife Jessica, and they have two wonderful little girls named Juliette and Charlotte. Carlos and Paula have been married for over 30 years. Henning and his wife Jenny have two precious children, Stephen and Kezia, who continually bless them with their accomplishments and talents. Marc and Ivana have two daughters, Savanna and Cassidy, who are a true joy and blessing; and both their daughters have been home educated. Owen moved to Johannesburg from Worcester in the Western Cape at the beginning of 2015, to become the Assistant to the Pastor at Village Church. Colin has been married to his wife Lisa for 42 years. They have four amazing children Corene, Bruce, Kathleen and Justine, and five grandchildren. Adele was married to George for 37 years and has been blessed with two wonderful grown up sons. Gail was married to Duncan for 29 years before he went home to be with his loving Saviour earlier this year. Lorraine has been part of the Village Church family since She joined the office team as the church bookkeeper in Nathan is a vibrant young man with heritage from both South Africa and Malawi. Charles is originally from Malawi, where his two children live with his wife. He manages to get home from time to time to visit them. We are bible-based, inter-denominational, and multi-racial. We embrace the person of the Holy Spirit, and depend on His anointing for life and ministry. And we strive to maintain a highly participatory church environment. The Village Church in Lonehill was birthed as a result of that vision, and was shortly thereafter released to seek its own identity and direction. Each of these churches has gone through their own developments, creating their own histories and individual identities in the wider Kingdom of God. The following 12 doctrines are the non-negotiables of the Christian faith, at least as we see them. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, in His ascension into Heaven, in His present life as our High Priest and Advocate and in His personal and imminent return. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe and trust in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. We believe that all who repent of their sin, receive Jesus Christ by faith as Saviour and confess Him as Lord are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust, in the eternal blessedness of the children of God, and in the eternal banishment of all others. To be a Holy Spirit anointed church family in relationship with God and each other, passionately reaching out into the community, nation and world. Our mission statement is captured by the acronym ROADS. We believe that for our church to be healthy, these five elements of church life (Relationships, Outreach, Anointing, Doctrine & Structure) need to be abundantly present, and held in dynamic balance with one another. His grace astounds us, His power amazes us and His persistent love overwhelms us. He is the focus of our preaching, and our interpretive key to unlocking the meaning of scripture. He is our plum-line, our yardstick, and our corner-stone. His life prescribes our lives and His words guide and instruct all of what we do and who we aspire to be. Jesus is the foundation and head of our church family.
