The Wanderers Club understands that life is better when shared with others and for over a century we have been bringing people together through our exquisite selection of bars, lounges and restaurant. The Club also boasts a stunning selection of banquet halls and conference rooms that will cater to your every need. Our 14 inviting sports are the heart of the Club with something on offer for everyone.

The Wanderers Club mission is to be the Premier Sporting Club in South Africa, striving to understand, recognise, and meet needs of members, stakeholders, and partners through ongoing product development, investment, service delivery systems and by developing a technological capacity, promoting partnerships, new revenue streams and recognising the need to transform the demographic profile of the Club. It was a group of young rugby players who came together in 1886 as the first Wanderers Rugby Club in Johannesburg, quickly followed by another group calling themselves the Wanderers Cricket Club but the Wanderers Club that still exists today was formed in Since those historic days, Wanderers has provided a place for the people of Johannesburg to come together and celebrate life. Regarded by many as an extension of their own homes, the Club is at the centre and heart of sport, recreation, and business activities not only in Johannesburg, but in South Africa. In pursuing our mission and vision, we pride ourselves on our Core Values. The Wanderers Club began in Johannesburg and its fortunes rose and fell with those of the Golden City. The story of the sportsmen who created and preserved it through many misfortunes is a story of wars and revolutions, strikes and fires, bullets and explosions. The men who found their recreation on its fields and broke sporting records were often played in a wider drama, much of which actually took place on the famous grounds. The history of the Wanderers Club is bound up with the history of the Transvaal and has for decades been a beacon in the international sporting world. Its story is a human drama of great personalities who were as much pioneers of South Africa as enthusiastic sportsmen. The Vista Room is situated on the ground floor with easy access to outside gardens and a large gazebo. The Umpires Room is the smallest venue in the clubhouse and can comfortably seat 6-8 guests boardroom style. The Captains Room can cater for up to 60 guests depending on the seating arrangements. The Captains Room includes a screen, fireplace and natural lighting.
